Your First Orthodontic Visit

We look forward to meeting new patients in their first visit to our office. During this complementary visit, it is our intention for you to have a pleasant and informative experience. We know you are busy. Therefore, we make every effort to minimize the time spent in our office and reduce visits. This means less time missing school/work. In order to accomplish a complete diagnosis in one visit, you can expect this appointment to last approximately 60 minutes. The visit will consist of:

  • Initial Paperwork and Health History - 10 min

To save you time, this can be completed online or by downloading the necessary forms from home. Please be prepared to answer questions regarding patient & billing party information (address, birth date, phone numbers, employer, etc). In addition, if applicable, please bring your dental insurance card. If you do not have an insurance card, please bring the name, address, and phone number of your dental carrier.
  • Record Gathering - 10 min

A Clinical Technician will be taking both a panoramic and a cephalometric x-ray. If you have one from your dentist, please bring it with you or have the office email it to us. In addition, a set of clinical photographs will be taken and used in the diagnostic progress.
  • Doctor Exam - 20 min

Dr. Coombs will provide a complete diagnostic exam and discuss if treatment is recommended and if so, your potential treatment options.
  • Financial Consultation - 20 min

We will discuss the cost of treatment, insurance considerations, and multiple financial options including zero-interest financing.

At the end of your first visit you will know:

  • Is there a present condition that orthodontics can address?
  • Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • Do any baby or permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • What are my payment options?
